What is the difference between RTO and RPO?
Recovery Time Objective (RTO) is how quickly you need to restore a system after a disruption. Recovery Point Objective (RPO) is how much data loss is acceptable — i.e. how far back in time you can afford to recover from a backup. CyLentrix designs your DR architecture to meet both objectives for every critical system.
How often should we test our DR plan?
At a minimum, we recommend a tabletop exercise quarterly and a full technical DR drill annually. Organisations in regulated industries (banking, healthcare) are often required to test more frequently and provide test results to regulators.
Can CyLentrix help us recover from a ransomware attack?
Yes. Ransomware recovery is one of the most common DR scenarios we support. Our DR architecture includes air-gapped and immutable backups that ransomware cannot encrypt, enabling clean recovery without paying a ransom.
What is the difference between a cold site and a hot site DR strategy?
A hot site is a fully operational duplicate environment that can take over instantly. A cold site is a provisioned location with hardware but no active data replication, requiring hours or days to bring online. CyLentrix designs the right strategy based on your RTO objectives and budget.
Do we need BCP for ISO 27001 compliance?
Yes. ISO 27001 Annex A control A.17 explicitly requires business continuity management. PCI-DSS, RBI guidelines, and most other major frameworks also require documented and tested business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
